VOSA kit car day visit

September 10th 2005

Today I drove down to the VOSA test centre at Derby as they were having an open day.

The day covered the elements that the car will go through...

My view from the day was....

1) If it doesn't need it don't put it on....
    a) Wet weather gear
    b) Badges & Emblems
2) It it sticks up or out then round it.
3) If it's loose tighten it.
4) if it's sharp blunt it or cover it.

The car can be driven to the test centre, although if it fails a prohibition order can be made on the vehicle and the vehicle can be refuse back onto the public highway.

If the vehicle fails then it normally is retested on the failures but is is at the discretion of the examiner if they would like to do a full re-test. The test will normally take around four hours.
